Students at Levels 4 and 5 (Years 5 to 8), “increasingly require content that is perceived as valuable, is consistent with personal goals, and/or leads to an important outcome” (VELS revised edition, December 2005). PROJECT ROCKIT directly identifies with this stage of development to gear students towards the following Victorian Essential Learning Standards within the Physical, Social and Personal Learning domain:
Domain

Dimension
P-ROCK application
Physical, personal and social learning
Interpersonal development
o Building positive social relationships.
o Working and learning in teams.
o Managing and resolving conflicts.
Students learn communication.
Personal learning
o Acquiring self-knowledge and dispositions that support the individual learner.
o Learning with peers and seeking and responding appropriately to feedback.
o Increasingly managing their own learning and growth through goal-setting and allocating the resources to acheive this.
Students reflect on their own behaviour through a range of drama, discussion and creative writing exercise.
In acknowledging that the IBO learner profiles and attitudes mark “the common ground on which PYP schools stand, the essence of what they are about” (Making the PYP happen, 2000), our program relates closely to the IBO schools guide.
We recognise that students who are true ambassadors for anti-bullying culture are International People by directly answering to IBO learning profiles:
