"We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams" – Willy Wonka
Cofounder and CEO
Growing up, Lucy Thomas always figured that “someone should really do something about bullying.” Then Lucy realised: I am that someone. Straight out of high school, Lucy and their sister Rosie launched PROJECT ROCKIT as a grassroots community project to tackle the issue in Aussie schools. What started small has since exploded into Australia’s youth-driven movement against bullying, hate, and prejudice. Today, PROJECT ROCKIT has empowered over 750,000 young Australians through peer-led workshops, digital innovation, and global advocacy.
Lucy’s work has taken them all over the world, from Wangaratta to Texas, Wollongong to Auckland, Atherton to Perth, engaging hundreds of thousands of young people directly. Along the way, they’ve earned recognition from UNICEF, the global Family Online Safety Institute, and were awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for service to youth and the issue of bullying.
A passionate advocate for elevating youth voices, Lucy leads the PROJECT ROCKIT National Youth Collective and holds leadership roles on global Safety Advisory Boards for Meta, Snapchat, Spotify, and government initiatives.
But this work is deeply personal. When you dedicate your life to building a kinder, more inclusive world, it inevitably exposes you to bullying and prejudice along the way. Lucy channels these lived experiences into every talk, workshop, and advocacy role – including their widely shared TEDx talk, Kindness: The ultimate rebellion against bullying.
With a blended background in Psychology and Creative Arts, Lucy brings creativity, courage, and unshakable kindness to building a world where young people can thrive by being exactly who they are.
