What does IMPACT actually look like?

In 2024, we journeyed beside 127,595 young people across Australia - from bustling metro classrooms to regional towns, and tiny rural schools tucked away in the bush.

That number is huge, but the real story is what happens when a young person finally sees themselves reflected, heard, and included.

“We’ve never had someone come to our school before who looks like us and told us that we can be more. People see the colour of our skin first, not our potential.” – Student, PROJECT ROCKIT workshop

Smashing barriers to access

More than 53,000 students in 95 schools accessed PROJECT ROCKIT through fully funded programs in 2024. These schools would have otherwise missed out due to financial or geographical barriers.

We know inequality doesn’t start in adulthood. It shows up in school resources, travel budgets, and whether or not a workshop like ours is even possible. That’s why access is core to how we deliver impact.

  • 56% of participants were from metro areas
  • 39% from regional communities
  • 5% from rural settings

What young people are walking away with

We don’t just run workshops. We create spaces where young people can lead, connect, and be heard. Our data backs that up:

  • 9 out of 10 students now feel equipped to navigate the digital world and creative a positive online presence
  • 8 out of 10 students say they’re more willing to stand up when someone is being treated unfairly or bullied

These aren’t just soft skills. They’re the building blocks of a more inclusive, empathetic ad action oriented generation.

Introducing our National Youth Collective

This year we launched our first ever National Youth Collective - 42 young leaders aged 12 - 20 from across the country, all with lived experience and a passion to make a difference.

They’re not just along for the ride- they’re leading it. As advisors, creators, and ambassadors, these young people are helping shape PROJECT ROCKIT’s future.

So where are we now?

With this year’s milestone, PROJECT ROCKIT has now worked with over 750,000 young people across Australia since we began. That’s over 750,000 opportunities for young people to realise:

“You’re not alone.”
“You have a voice.”
“And you have power.”
