Dot Bertrand

Head of Programs

Dot Headshot 2024

Dot's final high school years were marked by a profound sense of purpose and a deep-rooted passion for advocating for those facing adversity.

Even at a young age, she recognised the importance of standing up for others and making a positive impact in her community. This early dedication served as the cornerstone for her future career path, igniting a desire to pursue a career where she could continue to make a meaningful difference in people's lives and communities.

Fast forward and Dot is now a social worker with over 10 years of experience, including tertiary education in youth work, counselling and social work. Dot has immersed herself in a variety of professional settings, each presenting unique challenges and opportunities to impact the lives of those she supports. From supporting young people in various schools to navigating the complexities of child protection and crime diversion, Dot's experience spans across a wide spectrum of social issues.

As a leader, Dot's approach is defined by gratitude, compassion, and vulnerability. By leading with her heart, she creates an environment where individuals feel empowered to realise their potential and teams are inspired to work collaboratively towards shared goals. Her commitment to nurturing both the personal and professional growth of those around her reflects her unwavering dedication to fostering positive change within the youth sector.

Beyond her role at Project Rockit, Dot is busy running around with her toddler, reading books about psychology/social issues, listening to throwback Thursday playlists on all days of the week and is currently in her last semester of her masters degree in social work.
